Interplast Munich, Stiftung Life, German Lufthansa Hamburg, Mercy Fund Germany, Angel Travel & Tours, Laguna Lodge – ECO Hotel, Myanmar Chefs Association, EAGEL Donors Germany, Spiggle & Theiss, Kurz ENT Implants, Union & Rakhine State Ministry of Health,- Prime Minister & Government of Rakhine State, Myanmar. Special Thanks to Dr Soe Tun Aung Rakhine Hospital s MS, Dr Thaung Hlaing – Rakhine Public Health, Dr Kyaw Khaing Win – Sittwe ENT and team.

From Last weeks report here an update from Sittwe ENT charity operation and training between Myanmar and German ENT specialists.

Dr Kyaw Khaing Win – ENT stationed Dr in Sittwe arranged best with his assistant and the whole ENT ward on the supervision of the Sittwe Hospital MS. All first screened patients waited at the station and from Airport direct the German ENT team arrived at the Hospital and during screening case by a by case of 53 patients the next days operation plan was done with 6 to 10 operations a day. 6.11. first operations were done while 7. & 8.11. Election day in Myanmar the team spent time in Sittwe outskirts for rural area ENT screenings and early child deafness discovery.

Monday and Tuesday had full day operations and Wednesday back to Thandwe for post operational check up of the past weeks operated patients. 19 patients came as well again 32 new out patients were all treated.

The Lufthansa Hamburg donated ENT screening station cleaned and locked for the finally Myanmar ENT Dr to arrive or the next years new mission of EAGLE Germany ENT Dr Biesinger from Traunstein and ENT , Anesthetic and Nurse team all volunteer working ….

Thank you to all involved all best donors for the new operational drill. microscope ENT equipment which makes the team independent as well a new ENT Dr for all Thandwe and South Rakhine ( 1 million people without ENT Dr ) able to work at all.

Ngapali – Sittwe Rakhine State, Rural Area Myanmar, 13.11.2015

With the support of World Chefs Without Borders and EAGLE, under the permits of the Union Ministry of Health Myanmar and the full support of Rakhine Prime Minister U Maung Maung Ohn the third time MCA-WCWB could perform ENT Free Ear Operation to the poor people ,,– Thandwe and Southern Rakhine where over 1 million people are still without any ear Dr…. A budget is there the posting is still missing by the Ministry of Health, — the demand and patient are many….

See the small boy of 12 years at the pictures would have lived only two more years if lucky as he had a Cholesteatom which over the time would have goe to the head bone and brain and the boy would have died of an Abscess in the Brain… A still commend but not needed death for children in Myanmar where there is no treatment and screening for ear defects possible… as in most rural area.

EAGLE German ENT team operated again 22 patients in Thandwe and many again registered for the next mission in 6 month. there were around 80 out patients treated in the 4 days medical ENT mission in Thandwe alone — the amount of patients which came to see the Drs was growing until the last day yesterday – which is a clear indicator that Thandwe District needs urgent urgent a Myanmar ENT Dr stationed there . And it proves that the general surgeon Dr Kyaw Aye from Thandwe which mentioned in October 2014 to us – we do not need ENT Drs in Thandwe, that he was not only wrong but also questioned by him self for what he gave the medical Drs oath ????? As he mentioned this in front of us.

Most Thank you we all have to say to new Thandwe Hospital Dr Myo Zaw, – which ensured at any time that the German – Myanmar ENT team had best work conditions , sufficient staff from Nurses and OP support, the new Myanmar Anesthetic Dr also a best medical Dr with great cooperation and best English speaking abilities,— it is good that the Thandwe Hospital transforms to a place where people get help from motivated and responsible people.

The boy was lucky as Lufthansa Germany, Dr Exner and team arranged the screening ENT station as donation to Thandwe through MCA & WCWB in 2014 – German Mercy Fund covered the cost of the equipment shipment to Myanmar. EAGLE German volunteer ENT Drs and Anesthetic Drs around Dr Christian Heiden and team leader Dr Eberhard Biesinger performed many times in Myanmar including the establishment of Ear Micro Chips Cochlea Implants first time , training in Europe Myanmar ENT Drs for such operations and now concentrating on Rural area ENT development and training, transfer of knowledge.

The girl seen with her sad mother needs a Cochlea Implant otherwise she will never hear and than not develop speech the mother was in tears as this cost around 7500 $ US , we are happy for any donation in this direction….ever 1 $ US brings her closer to the goal. A person which can not hear will cost money the whole live,—- a person which can made hearing will earn money the whole live as Dr Biesinger always says.

Many thanks to the Union Ministry of Health in Myanmar for all best arrangements and permit in best cooperation , the ENT team will move today to Sittwe State Hospital where Myanmar ENT Dr Kyaw Khaing Win waits already with 50 more patients to be operated some emergency by the Myanmar – German ENT team. The mission was sponsored by Laguna Lodge – ECO Hotel and Angel Travel & Tours Co Ltd.

Thanks to all medical equipment donors from Germany, more after Sittwe mission is concluded on 11.11.2015

World Chefs Without Borders,- Housing Aid Myanmar Sittwe 8.11.2015

Myanmar Chefs Association Housing Aid, Flooding 2015 on the way as planned

1.) In Rakhine State Shwe Tun Phyu village more than 25 families lost their houses due to the July 2015 heavy flood,- where 19 families also lost their land at river banks all washed away overnight all became refugees.. MCA – WCWB initiated within the all over flood aid Myanmar the housing aid next to 5 houses at the Delta MCA aid village groups in Hinthadar and Zalon.

– 5 families with own land could get direct their first installments for first ” Frame ” building and than further after an evidence picture was sent to the MCA Office,- than next payment for roofing followed and last was walls cover material payment and a ready house picture. All initiated when all Yangon MCA Chefs were in Rakhine at the Lay Myo River on 11.9. & 12.9.2015.

the rest 20 families needed to apply for low cost land from the Rakhine Government, – 350 $ US for a 40 x 60 feet plot, as the Government for good reason does not let anyone build near the river anymore. This step took time ,– so on 7.11.2015 MCA Chefs could get back to Shwe Tun Phyu village and hand over the first step to the remaining families. Some applied for new low cost land others joined now in to relatives land and build the houses there.

– Many individual Chefs of WCWB – WACS, as Tony Khoo and many others , as well Chefs Associations of WACS donated money direct for the housing fund like the Canadian Culinary Federation – Toronto Branch and more so funds for 35 houses came at present together. Mr Gunter Kreft tour operator from Germany just collected from his tour group and Laguna Lodge Ngapali guests just at Breakfast , 900 Euro for more houses ( see hand over picture ) – so we started a further assessment to support more families with houses. 3 houses were already built at Delta region , so here also with delay as the flood came back twice and building was not possible.

We give the fund s only in installments o avoid that the money is miss used for maybe also at present urgent items for the families – so for the long term aid the houses are the best solution….

Present Status of WCWB – MCA housing project:

– 5 Houses are ready and families back on track

– 1 House is with first step means roofing gets on the way now

– 19 houses start now with building after land issues were cleared with Government

We are able in some weeks also to supply each family with a Solar Lamp for light at night…..

with best greetings and until very soon with more news , yours
